The Driving School
Emerald School of Motoring was founded in 1999 by Chris Holmes because he had a desire for all of his children to learn how to drive safely.
Subsequently, more than 20 years on, his children are driving safely and the mission of the driving school remains the same. To teach you to become a safe driver and to pass your test, ideally first time.
Therefore, this means we promote the guidelines produced by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency: your safety, the safety of other road users, and pedestrians.

Your Driving Instructor
Chris has always had a passion for driving cars since his first car at the age of 17, which was a bright orange Austin Mini Clubman.
In addition, he has more than 20 years’ of experience teaching people from all walks of life. But, his most famous learner driver was Tracey Emin.
Most importantly, he passionately believes in Safe Driving for Life. Consequently, he doesn’t cut corners (no pun intended) and will guide you to become a safe driver.

Your Driving Lessons
Manual

Learning to drive a manual is more difficult than an automatic because you’ll need to change the gears manually. But, manual cars are usually cheaper to buy than automatics.
Automatic

Automatics are easier to drive compared to manuals because the gears change automatically. But, automatic cars can cost slightly more to buy than manuals.
